Rotary Youth Leadership Awards RYLA
Rotary International District 5580's Camp RYLA program is a week of intense leadership training. Campers--also referred to as RYLArians --learn about what it takes to be not just a leader but an effective leader. Outstanding speakers from all over the region, discussion groups, and sessions with volunteer Rotarians are just a few of the sources for this leadership development. Activities include daily interaction among peer camper groups, challenging physical and mental puzzles, and fellowship with Rotarians. Campers also make friendships to last a lifetime!

Camp RYLA is sponsored by local Rotary Clubs of Rotary International District 5580. It is operated and staffed by volunteer Rotarians from Rotary International District 5580 (which includes all of North Dakota, the northern half of Minnesota, and portions of Wisconsin and Ontario) as well as by former RYLArians. Rotary International District 5580 is committed to sponsoring RYLA as one of its outstanding youth projects. Individual Rotary Clubs pay all of the fees for each camper. RYLArians incur no cost for attending this week of great learning.

Rotary International District 5580 is looking for outstanding young leaders and potential leaders between the ages of 16 and 18 from area high schools to apply for Camp RYLA. Participants of Camp RYLA are typically about to enter their junior or senior year in high school when they attend. We are seeking students with a good academic record and involvement in school activities (athletics, fine arts, student government, etc.) as well as in non-school-related activities and work experience. Outstanding student leaders will be chosen from applicants for a week of leadership training at Camp RYLA.
